LEVEL 5
IAT Diploma
Our Level 5 Diploma continues on from Level 4 and will see you two thirds of the way to a full Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science & Technology. Covering 4 individual learning units, Level 5 will ensure you are well versed in animal welfare law and can apply this knowledge in practice. You will be introduced to the importance of good experimental design, and explore the subjects of toxicology, and genetic alteration in animals.
Find out more about the units covered in Level 5 below and alternatively, if you are unable to give the level of commitment required to study an IAT Diploma but would still like to improve your skills, each unit covered in our Diploma is also available as a stand alone CPD course.

Animal Law
& Welfare
Explore the legislation and ethical principles governing the use of animals in science, essential knowledge for all existing and prospective NACWOs.

Experimental
Design
An introduction to the principles of good experimental design and reporting. Develop your skills in effective research, review and analysis

Toxicology
An introduction to the theory, methods and regulations governing the assessment of biochemical toxicology and the role of the Study Director.

Genetic
Alteration
All you need to know about breeding, maintaining and using GA animals, including the maintenance and development of specific animal models.
